2024 HERITAGE STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

Attendance

To meet the needs of our guests, customers, and coworkers, the Company expects all employees to report for work punctually as scheduled, to work all scheduled hours, and are requested to stay beyond end time if the event runs over. 

Parking

All employees are to park at USCB Hilton Head Island Campus and use the employee shuttle to get to the Clubhouse. The parking lot address is 21 Office Park Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.  The shuttle will be running from 3:30 am - 2:00 am in the morning.  Give yourself extra time to arrive on time due to traffic and shuttle service.  All Pros are required to place a car tag flier, obtained from an on site Gigpro representative, in the dashboard with your name, contact info. 

The Sea Pines Resort will NOT pay or reimburse any towing fees.  

Meals and Breaks

Employees will be given vouchers redeemable for food at the Employee break area in the parking garage.  All employees will be given a 30 minute break as time permits with permission from the manager.  Food will be available between 11am and 4pm.

Smoking

Smoking is NOT permitted at all by any Food & Beverage employee during his/her work shift. 

Cell Phones and PEDs

  • Personal Electronic Devices(PED) include, but are not limited to:  Cell Phones, I-Phones, Androids, Blackberries, I-Pods, Tablets, Computers, MP-3 Players, Radios, Pagers, Video Games

  • Use of Personal Electronic Devices is prohibited in a moving company owned vehicle or golf cart at all times.

  • While employees are “on company time” (clocked-in), Personal Electronic Devices are not permitted.  PED’s are to remain “off” during employee’s guest facing time and not brought into guest areas. 

  • Employees may use these PED’s ONLY during a break with the permission of his/her supervisor/manager and always out of sight and out of hearing range of all guests.

  • In case of emergency, contact the supervisor/manager to be removed from the guest facing areas, and out of hearing range.

  • Heritage Exception: Employees working in designated areas (i.e. skyboxes/golf course) will be permitted to use cell phones for necessary business communication only and out of sight and out of hearing range of our guests whenever possible.

Uniforms

Each employee must provide their own black pants, belt, socks, and shoes.  Night functions will require the employee to provide his/her own white button down white collared shirt. Sea Pines will provide the remaining uniform, i.e. vest, tie, or polo short sleeve shirt.  All uniforms MUST BE RETURNED after your last shift is complete to your manager.  If uniform items are not returned, $50 ‘no return’ fee will be deducted from the final payout, and the final payout will be delayed up to 2 days. 

In case of inclement weather, black Sea Pines pull over jackets will be issued to individuals, and returned at the end of your shift. 

Personal Appearance

  • Hair must be a natural color (i.e. no purple, pink, blue etc)

  • Nails should be clean and shaped, and of a length (1/4” from fingertip) which does not interfere with job performance.  If polished, extremes, such as dark colors in nail coloring and nail art are not permitted

  •  Men are not permitted to wear colored nail polish

  • All clothing should be clean, odor-free, and allow for ease of movement. Appropriate undergarments are to be worn and not visible

  • Deodorant is to be used as necessary and perfume or cologne is to be used in moderation

  • Unsightly facial hair is unacceptable.  Employees must be clean shaven – except for areas covered by a beard, mustache or sideburns.  If worn, they must be clean and neatly trimmed so as not to detract from a professional appearance and Sea Pines Resort image.  If facial hair is worn it will be well groomed and neatly trimmed at all times.  It may not present a ragged appearance.

  • Nose rings, and other visible forms of body piercing are prohibited (including nose and tongue piercing)

  • Minimal or no jewelry (wedding bands permitted), no dangle or hoop earrings permitted

  • Multiple earring studs not permitted

  • Male employees may not wear earrings. 

  • Sunglasses or darkly tinted lenses only worn unless required for medical reasons and substantiated by a physician’s note

  • Tattoos of any kind, in any location, may not be visible while working

Failure to comply with the above Food & Beverage Departmental Policies regarding appearance will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Resort Behavioral Guidelines

In all cases, we expect our employees to use good judgment and common sense. Listed below are guidelines of the Sea Pines Resort, LLC common behavioral guidelines. This list should not be viewed as all-inclusive. The Company reserves the right to discipline, or to discharge with or without cause and for any reason for conduct not listed below. Examples of behavior and conduct that Sea Pines Resort, LLC considers inappropriate and which could lead to termination of employment without prior warning at the sole discretion of the Company include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Reporting to work intoxicated, under the influence of non-prescribed drugs, or otherwise unfit for duty 

  • Using obscene, abusive or threatening language or gestures 

  • Engaging in criminal conduct or acts of violence, horseplay or fighting  on Company property 

  • Theft, destruction, defacement or misuse of property of the Company, another employee, a guest, a customer or a vendor 

  • Possession of firearms or other weapons on or in Company property  

  • Altering a check or credit card voucher, making unauthorized charges to a guest or customer credit card or knowingly overcharging a guest or customer 

  • Failing to follow Company policy regarding handling of cash banks, deposits or other established accounting procedures 

  • Unauthorized use of Company facilities, telephones, equipment, and Company vehicles 

  • Unprofessional appearance or conduct 

  • Engaging in insubordination or the refusal to follow instructions or directives from management concerning a job related matter 

  • Leaving Company premises without permission or failing to remain at your workstation until the end of your shift unless released early by management 

  • Engaging in any form of harassment
